which type of flooring would you suggest for my house
l am planning to replace my current carpet flooring to either a hard wood
or vinyl or stone or tile. Home depot informed me that if l
have concrete slab currently then it will be difficult to install hard
wood. l need some flooring which is easy to clean and maintain and is not
very expensive. p.s. l am not into laminated flooring as l think
they look fake. l am not a do it yourself person. So please respond with which flooring should l go with also taking into consideration the cost to getting it installed.
slated tile.
If you are going to get home depot to do the work for you you
might as well call a smalltime contractor because home depot subcontracts
there work through cooper flooring and cooper flooring subcontracts to
individual contractors. go with glue down hardwood flooring it is the best
application for concrete and call a local contractor so you wont have to
pay the other two guys
The problem with trying to put hardwood flooring on the
concrete is that the nails that go through the grooves of the flooring
have to also go into the flooring below it, (concrete will not accept the
nails). You are probably better off with the laminate or using ceramic
floor tiles.
hardwood is fine and can be done, just speak with a
knowledgeable contractor, NOT home depot
the people who know the answer don't work at home depot
putting down a vapor barrier would allow for a wood floor
You can use hardwood or laminate if you use the appropriate
underlayment. Talk to someone at the manufacturer. Surely they have a web
site.
I say you choose the one you like best. It will be much better
that way. You could always consider Feng Shui, the art of designing the
house both internally and externally.
you can still use hardwood flooring but neet to use a thick
cusioned underay.
